SAGE, the Summer of Applied Geophysical Experience, is a unique educational program designed to introduce students in geophysics and related fields to "hands on" geophysical exploration and research. The program emphasizes both teaching of field methods and research related to a variety of basic and applied problems.

SAGE is sponsored by the Los Alamos National Laboratory branch of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, University of California.

Funding for SAGE is provided by the U. S. Department of Energy, the U. S. National Science Foundation, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the University of California, a consortium of large and small companies, and student fees. SAGE is a National Science Foundation, Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.

DATES FOR SAGE 2006:

Core Program June 21 (arrival)--July 13, 2006 (departure)

For REU Undergraduates June 18 (arrival)--July 14, 2006 (departure)
