Version 3.0 (Erupt3, LA-CC 99-33, Copyright © 1998-2004 UC) is available for free download from RockWare. It includes many new features and capabilities beyond previous releases of ERUPT, such as recording and playback of eruption sequences, display of the detailed stratigraphy for chosen locations, and 3-D display of a plan (map) and topographic views of the volcano/volcanic field you create. In addition, Erupt 3.0 will include a greatly improved help system, new eruption types, a toolbar, and a WWW browser for quick updates and information for registered users.
Geological software by Ken Wohletz

A number of new innovations have been implemented in making a group of applications, constituting Erupt3, as pictured above.
Some of the Erupt 3.0 new features shown below with an animation, and reproductions of the detailed stratigraphy, geological map, and topographic map views demonstrate the 3-D capabilities of Erupt3 (Check out Erupt3D Viewer (version 3.01, below)
The following image is a reproduction of the screen during simulation. Note each eruption type deposits a layer of lava or tephra that is color-keyed. To download a demo movie of Erupt3 in action (for Windows Media Player), just click the picture below (Erupt3a.avi: 4.2 MB)
